APPGIFI Formula Costs Inquiry

In July 2018 theĀ All Party Parliamentary Group on Infant Feeding & Inequalities (APPGIFI) conducted an inquiry on the costs of infant formula and we responded on behalf of the families who contacted us. The report was published in November 2018, but we felt a few key facts were missed.

Safeguarding formula supplies

Following media reports of possible food and medicine shortages in the UK post Brexit, we expressed our concern about the impact on infant formula supplies to Secretary Matt Hancock. We asked him to commit to safeguarding the supply and cost of infant formula following Brexit. You can ask your MP to commit to doing the same.

BFHI review

Following our participation in the public consultation on the Baby Friendly Hospital Initiative guidelines we don’t think it makes the grade for safe, evidence based, inclusive infant feeding support. We asked our MP’s to review the BFHI to tr and improve support for breastfeeding and formula feeding parents and you can too!
