Feeding Friendly: information for families

How will I be supported to feed my baby in a Feeding Friendly venue?

Feeding Friendly venues are committed to supporting you to feed your baby in public with confidence and without disturbance.  By participating in the scheme they will be aware of the laws supporting your right to feed your baby in public.  In the unlikely event that you receive a negative reaction to feeding your baby, you can be confident that in a Feeding Friendly premises the staff will support you to continue feeding.

A Feeding Friendly venue will have policies in place to provide a welcoming environment for parents and carers of young babies so you can feel comfortable asking for help, whether it be a wayward buggy, a bottle that needs heated or directions to the comfiest seat in the place!

How do I find a Feeding Friendly venue?

Look for the signs! We have provided each member of our Feeding Friendly scheme with signage to let parents know they are welcome to breastfeed, bottle feed or tube their babies with confidence. you may see these in the windows, or inside your local venues.

You can also search for Feeding Friendly businesses near you on our location finder.
