Our Feeding Friendly Scheme

The Feeding Friendly scheme allows businesses and organisations to show their commitment to welcoming parents and carers of young infants and supporting them to feed their babies in public.

By displaying our Feeding Friendly signage, businesses show they support all parents and carers to feed their babies, bottles, boobs or tubes.

Welcoming to families

Businesses and organisations who sign up to the Feeding Friendly scheme make a pledge to uphold the values of the initiative, which are to provide a welcoming environment for all families with young infants, and to keep up to date with the current best practice in supporting parents to feed their babies in public.

Judgement free

At Feed, we want every family in the UK to be supported to feed their baby in public without fear or judgement, which is why we support all infant feeding methods equally. The Feeding Friendly scheme brings together likeminded inclusive, compassionate and supportive businesses and organisations to demonstrate that no matter how a baby is fed, all families will be welcomed and supported.

Inclusive

The Feeding Friendly scheme is inclusive of all families and supports those who breastfeed, bottle feed or tube feed their babies. It raises awareness of the barriers that women can experience, and that prevent them from confidently feeding their babies in public.

The Feeding Friendly scheme has been championed by AberNecessities. Founder Dani has worked hard to ensure parents across Aberdeen are supported to feed their babies.

“As a mum, I desperately want to feel able to feed my baby in public and feel safe when I do this. Safe from judgement and unkind words. I value this scheme more than words can describe. As someone who supports women and families to have babies with full tummies, I’m thrilled that the community has come together once more to show their support for their youngest customers. It’s so important to remove stigma, unkind words and promote inclusion, compassion and kindness throughout our community. Thank you to Feed for continuing to allow those who can only cry to be heard and for putting infant feeding equality and parental mental health at the forefront.”
