During my family leave in 2023, I was shocked at the increased cost and legislative restrictions placed on infant formula during a cost-of-living crisis. I felt passionately that change was needed, and wrote to my MP to raise the issue. During this time, I came across Feed through their powerful Formula for Change campaign, which called on the government to urgently review their infant formula legislation. The noise around infant feeding is divisive, and Feed provided non-judgemental, unbiased information and advice when I needed it.
I am looking forward to inputting into Feed’s research, policy, and advocacy work.

As she watched friends and family have babies and embark on their own unique feeding journey, Hannah was amazed to see the extent of responses that different feeding options provoked, and the sheer amount of information that new mums were bombarded with. It seemed to be something that everyone had a piece of (and an opinion on!) - politicians, parents, medical staff, even supermarkets. However, her interest peaked last year after the birth of her first child, when she realised just how important it is to have clear, evidence based information available to new parents so that they can make informed decisions that are best for themselves and their baby.
Hannah is a lawyer by profession, working with charities and non-profits, and had a masters in Human Rights law. At the weekends she can be found walking the Kent countryside with her partner, baby, and dog.

I am a mum to two wonderful children. I believe that all children should have fair and equal access to adequate nutrition, and all care givers should have the knowledge and support to help their little ones thrive.
I run a small network of baby banks and work closely with families of all backgrounds. We work hard to ensure all families have access to the things they need - including formula, feeding advice and more.
No matter how you choose to feed your child, you should be supported.Through my work with High Peak Baby Bank and Stoke on Trent Baby Bank I have spent the past 4 years advocating for fair access to nutrition for babies. I believe parents should be able to choose how to feed their baby and have the knowledge and resources to do this safely and freely. I'm very happy to be a FEED UK advocate and work alongside so many wonderful people.

I am incredibly proud to have become a Feed Advocate in order to improve women's experiences around infant feeding.
Following a traumatic birth where complications left me and my son unwell, I was left with a low milk supply. I was advised to do everything I could to improve my supply and prioritise exclusive breastfeeding over everything else. This resulted in my baby not gaining adequate weight, I experienced extreme sleep deprivation due to prioritising expressing over sleep, and I felt overwhelming guilt. This experience in the first few weeks of becoming a mother was extremely detrimental to my own wellbeing and mental health.
I would like to see the focus of infant feeding going beyond the milk itself. I fully acknowledge the enormous benefits of breast milk, but feel there is an inadequate consideration of the mothers wellbeing and mental health. I am especially keen to advocate for mothers who have experienced birth trauma and had subsequent difficulties with breastfeeding. I want to encourage compassion around feeding and ensure formula milk is affordable and accessible to all.
I am incredibly excited to be supporting such an amazing charity and hope to help change the story for women going forward.
